Vista Backup? - vista backup

I have Vista.

I'm trying to backup my hard drive. I use used Memorex DVD + RW disc [my Dell Inspiron 1721].

The disc 1 has been smooth format by writing in the sand. However, if for a 2nd Asks CD, said he could not format or write to the disk. I got the same message after trying multiple discs.

Please help!
