Sound Of Ruu Hoshino Physics Question Involving Speed Of Sound And Height And Time. Not So Hard But I Was Never Taught It.any Help?

Physics question involving speed of sound and height and time. not so hard but i was never taught it.any help? - sound of ruu hoshino

Caving (cave), a stone falling into a hole alone. The speed of sound is 343 m / s hits in the air and the sound of the stone floor heard 1.28 s after the stone fell. How deep is the hole?

(1 / 2) (9.8 m / s ^ 2) (T1) ^ 2 = 343 (T2)

T1 + T2 = 1.28

T2 = 1.28-T1

4.5 (t1) ^ 2 - (343) (1.28-t1) = 0

4.5 (t1) ^ 2 + 343t1 - 439.04 = 0

quadratic formula:

T1 = [-343 + / - sqrt (343 ^ 2 to 4 (4.5) (-439.04))] / 2 (4.5)

that the refusal does not work

T1 = [-343 + 354.33] / 9 = 1205 seconds

(1,205 ^ 2) * 4.5 = 6.53826 m

Read my calculations, but the method is correct.
